อีกหนึ่งข้อพิสูจน์ว่า เกม ไม่ได้มีไว้เล่นเอามันส์อย่างเดียว แต่ยังสามารถถ่ายทอดอารมณ์ เรื่องราว และข้อมูลที่มีจินตนาการบนความสมจริงไปอีกขั้น เมื่อ DON'T NOD ทีมงานสร้างเกมสุดดราม่าสมอง ร่วมมือกับ European Space Agency (ESA) หรือองค์การอวกาศยุโรป เพื่อสร้างสรรค์เรื่องราวการเอาชีวิตรอดของนักบินอวกาศสองคนที่ต้องเผชิญหน้ากับโลกต่างดาวอันหนาวเหน็บและปรากฏการณ์เหนือจริงหลังยานตก นี่คือเกม Aphelion

เนื้อเรื่องเกิดขึ้นในอนาคตอันใกล้ปี 2060 เมื่อโลกกำลังเผชิญหน้ากับการล่มสลาย มนุษยชาติจึงส่งความหวังสุดท้ายไปยังขอบระบบสุริยะ นั่นคือดาวเคราะห์ Persephone ภารกิจ Hope 01 ของ ESA ได้ส่งนักบินอวกาศ Ariane Montclair และ Thomas Cross ไปสำรวจ แต่ภารกิจกลับล้มเหลวตั้งแต่เริ่มต้นเมื่อยานของพวกเขาตกกระแทกดาวเคราะห์อย่างรุนแรง ทำให้ทั้งคู่ต้องกระจัดกระจายกันไป
